The 2023 edition of Paris Gallery Weekend took place from 26 to 28 May 2023. Over the years, this event has established itself as one of the most important in the French cultural and artistic panorama. Launched in 2014 on the initiative of Marion Papillon and managed by the Comité professionnel des galeries d’art from 2021, This year, the Paris Gallery Weekend  counted on the participation of around one hundred galleries in the Paris region who opens their doors for 3 days to present nearly nearly 250 artists to the widest possible public.

Open to all, free and free of charge, the events organized on the occasion of the Gallery Weekend were spread across many neighborhoods. The Marais, Matignon, Belleville, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, or even Romainville serving as a backdrop for new walks and discoveries for all tastes. On the program: openings, meetings with artists, performances or more book signings.

Collectors and art lovers were invited to follow the various itineraries of this 2023 edition which took the form, as every year, of neighbourhood walks or themed selections. Guided tours  also were offered to the general public.

Geographical Parcours

This year, there were seven geographical itineraries in the various emblematic Parisian art districts, as well as in Greater Paris:

4 routes cross the Marais,  1 route in the north-east  from Belleville to Romainville, 1 route allowing visitor to discover the extent of Saint-Germain-des-Prés  and 1 route in the Matignon district.

With 101 participating galleries, a wide choice was offered to Paris Gallery Weekend visitors during these 3 days, allowing them to create their own visits.

Celebrating the Cultural Richness of Paris

Paris Gallery Weekend has once again put together a VIP programme for collectors and connoisseurs. rice.s from France and abroad, offering them privileged access to Parisian galleries, museums and institutions, with particular particular attention to meetings with the major major players in the sector (other collectors, professionals, curators, etc.), professionals, curators, etc.).

Many public and private institutions are partners of the event: The Pernod Ricard Corporate Foundation, the Frac Ile-de-France, the Jeu de Paume museum, the Carnavalet museum, the Museum of Hunting and Nature, Bétonsalon, General Stores, the Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé Foundation…

In partnership with the Institut Français, Paris Gallery Weekend invite foreign curators for 3 days with a dedicated professional program.

This year, the Mobilier national has become a privileged partner partner by organising, with the CPGA, a grand dinner in the prestigious Galerie des Gobelins.

*Paris Gallery Weekend offered in its 2023 Edition thematic and geographic tours, 100% free access, in 101 galleries in four Parisian neighborhoods, Pantin and Romainville, all motivated to deploy a common energy and to make Paris shine as an essential capital of art.
