Master Drawings New York (MDNY) from Friday, January 21 through Saturday, January 29, 2022. 21 world’s leading international art dealers will exhibit an outstanding array of drawings, paintings, watercolors, and sculptures from the 14th to the 21st centuries.

Now in its 16th year, the annual week-long event presents gallery exhibitions primarily along Madison Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. It includes pop-up exhibitions by leading dealers from Europe, and special presentations mounted in private gallery spaces by top New York specialists.
Notably, four new exhibitors join the eminent roster. These include Gray M.C.A. Gallery (Bath, UK), Agnews (London), Sam Fogg (London), and Nicholas Hall (New York).

Shaping the public’s perceptions of historical events in the years before, during, and after the French Revolution, Jacques Louis David was regarded as the most important painter in France in his time. The Met is presenting a curatorial conversation and viewing of their upcoming first-of-its-kind exhibition devoted to the works on paper celebrating this influential artist and his impact on artists in his orbit.

The Hispanic Society of America was founded in 1904 to establish a free, public museum and reference library to study the art and culture of Spain, Portugal, Latin America, and the Philippines. With more than 6,000 watercolors and drawings, the Hispanic Society offers a comprehensive survey of Spanish painting and drawing into the early 20th century.

About Master Drawings New York
Master Drawings New York, the preeminent event for drawings on the calendar of art, began as a casual gallery walk during the Old Masters auctions and The Winter Show in New York. Since its co-founding in 2006 by Margot Gordon, an Old Masters specialist in New York City, and Crispian Riley-Smith of UK, the week has grown into a highly anticipated occasion.
