This year Masterpiece London launches MASTERPIECE PRESENTS, a new specially created exhibition space that will transform the Fair’s entrance. For the 2017 edition, Masterpiece London will showcase a large – scale site – specific installation by artist Iván Navarro.
Masterpiece has always offered collectors the opportunity to view and buy masterworks from antiquity to the present day, and this year the fair is stretching boundaries, with our most contemporary work for sale being a brand new immersive installation by renowned Chilean artist Iván Navarro.
Navarro is known internationally for his socio-politically charged sculptures of neon, fluorescent and incandescent light. He represented Chile at the 53rd Venice Biennale and his work is held in major public and private collections around the world.
Navarro’s installation has been commissioned for the Fair by Paul Kasmin Gallery who will be exhibiting for the first time this year.
The Cape Reimagined, an exhibition by Burberry
The official Preview Day partner of Masterpiece Art Fair, Burberry, will bring a selection of handmade couture capes to this summer’s fair.
Referencing the spirit of the Burberry archive, each cape is designed in their London atelier and crafted using unique constructions. Introduced on the runway, these collector’s pieces are inspired by the scale and form of Henry Moore’s sculptures, and represent the very essence of the British brand.
Pre-eminent international galleries will bring to market works that span the great spectrum of art and design in an environment uniquely suited to collecting.
New exhibitors Hazlitt Holland-Hibbert, Stoppenbach & Delestre, Vertes and Paul Kasmin Gallery enhance the fair’s strong representation of 19th to 21st century art available at Dickinson, Offer Waterman, Thomas Gibson, Blain|Southern and Robilant + Voena.
Robin Katz Fine Art, Osborne Samuel, Piano Nobile and Christopher Kingzett will contribute to the fair’s world-class showing of Modern British Art, including works by Henry Moore, Howard Hodgkin, Bridget Riley, and Barbara Hepworth.
