The Chablis Wine Festival changes its format and becomes, for this year, “Fête en Caves”. Under the current circumstances and for the safety of all, the 72nd edition of the Chablis Wine Festival will take place in the tasting cellars at the heart of the vineyards of the North of Bourgogne on the 24th and 25th of October.
An unmissable event for every Bourgogne wines lover, the Chablis Wine Festival will run as planned on the 4th week-end of October, but it will be different than the past years.
To guarantee the safety of the exhibitors and the visitors, it won’t take place in Chablis’ city centre but in the tasting cellars of the vineyards of the North of Bourgogne.
Therefore, the baptism of the vintage, the parade of the brotherhood Les Piliers Chablisiens, the banquet on saturday night and the traditional inductions of new members of the local brotherhood won’t be happening this year.
It’s directly in their cellars that you will be able to meet with Chablis and Grand Auxerrois producers on the 24th and 25th of October: they will open their doors from 10am to 6pm for this special edition named “Fête en Caves”.
There will be free tastings and the traditional glass of the Chablis Wine Festival will be offered to the visitors.
The walks in the vineyard originally planned on Sunday morning are canceled due to the announcement of new restriction from the Prefect of Yonne: the ban on meetings in the public space of more than 6 people reduces way too significantly the number of walkers by groups.
The estates will also be free to propose visits or other activities and entertainments for all ages in order to make this week-end even more festive.
